Ceramic Balls

Ceramic balls can in many cases be fitted into your existing steel raceway bearings, to get the benefits of the hybrid bearing, at an attractive price. These balls will give a significantly lower friction, longer service life, lower power loss, and lighter weight than bearings with steel balls.

Hybrid Ceramic Bearing

The balls are silicon nitride ceramics, while the raceway is steel. A hybrid bearing will give you some of the benefits from all ceramic bearings, but at a lower price tag. Compared to all steel bearings they have lower friction, lighter weight and longer service life. They are also less susceptible to dirt, dust and poor lubrication. Normally you can change your standard steel bearings to hybrid bearings without any other changes.

All Ceramic Bearing

Both balls and raceway are of silicon nitride ceramics. Ultra light weight, and durability under difficult environments this bearing will perform perfectly and with very low friction under any circumstance. Extremely good corrosion resistance. Will not seize even under unadequate lubrication, high temperature, or high revolution speeds. The best but also most costly solution. These bearings are also used in military aircraft, spacecraft, Wave Energy Converters and other equipment for severe environments.
