Maintenance
ALPHA Pulley Wheels are equipped with ADR, Active Debris Remover, bearing protection. Maintenance of the bearings should occur at least one to two times per year, every 10.000 km/6.000 miles in normal conditions, or every 5.000 km/3.000 miles in extreme or harsh conditions.
Disassemble the cage by removing the two cage bolts, take both pulleys and remove the stainless-steel ADR dust shields.
Carefully remove the bearing seals and flush the bearings following the UFO Bearing Cleaner instructions.
Wipe down all parts and inspect bearing seals and ADR dust shields for wear or damage.
Apply a few drops of UFO Pulley Oil and reinstall the pulley bearing seals.
Take careful note of the rotation direction of the pulleys and placement of upper and lower position during reassembly. The cage bolts are torqued to 3,0Nm.
FAQ
Find quick answers to our most frequently asked questions.
What is different from ALPHA Disc on OSPW?
The ALPHA Disc used for OSPW Systems features an alloy disc core to provide the ultimate in structural durability for our largest pulley sizes.
How does performance compare between ALPHA Pulley Wheel and OSPW systems?
ALPHA Pulley Wheel reduces bearing drag between 10-20%from stock. Increasing the Pulley Wheel size and customising spring tension increases efficiency up to 45% from OEM, or more than twice the benefit of stock size ALPHA Pulley Wheels.
How does ALPHA Pulley Wheel compare vs stock for weight?
The ALPHA Pulley Wheels are custom moulded in a lightweight composite polyamide for durability and long life, however the stainless ADR dust shields do add a small amount of weight, ranging from 1-8 grams heavier per set compared to stock pulleys.
Can ALPHA Pulley Wheels be used on more than 1 derailleur?
If the pulley tooth count is the same, you only need to swap the ADR dust shields to change the derailleur compatibility of the pulleys.
What about coated?
No need, our hardened stainless-steel races perform exceptionally and eliminate the need for the additional coating process and come with a lifetime warranty.
No Campagnolo?
At launch, we will support the most common derailleur models in the market. Additional compatibilities will be evaluated and added in the future.
