After capturing a surprise top-10 on a mythical trail north of Copenhagen, avid amateur rider Gustav Thuesen started pondering just how close he could get to the top spot.
A nagging question kept haunting Gustav: if he applied the same methodical approach and relied on the latest technological advancements, how much could he narrow the gap to the pros?
After he had dedicated himself to this mission for months and months, Gustav reflected on his journey and it was clear that it is possible as an amateur to get pretty far by taking a more professional approach - but it was also clear that there is still a big gap up to the professionals.
A gap that is impossible to close without the relentless dedication and laser focus of professional athletes. As an amateur, “life” will get in the way and dictate how good you can become. And that is good enough. As long as you have given it your all.
