OSPW X for Eagle Transmission - Cover more Ground
Good things come to those who wait. With our new OSPW X for SRAM’s Eagle Transmission group that’s no exception. Building off a cutting-edge and acclaimed foundation has kept us on our toes, but we firmly believe we’ve been able to develop something that elevates SRAM’s innovative group. In true CeramicSpeed fashion making something already good even better.
Introduced here for the first time with our FURTHER DRIVE Technology – a preliminary culmination of our commitment to combining efficiency and durability. It consists of two new tech features -Active Debris Remover (ADR) and the ALPHA Disc - that are both aimed at making the new OSPW X boost the Transmission group’s ability to perform efficiently over time.
For our new OSPW X, the FURTHER DRIVE Technology is combined with an entirely new cage structure utilizing more material mass – without adding unnecessary bulk – that makes it perfectly in line with the robustness that the Eagle Transmission group is celebrated for. But the true value is found in the FURTHER DRIVE Technology’s ability to provide peak performance deep in races or late in the season when riders need it the most.
Faster now, faster down the line – Cover more ground
Active Debris Remover (ADR)
ADR is a patent-pending technical feature that is based on a unique combination that makes it virtually impossible for debris to enter the bearing.
It consists of a new dust cover design that sits safely anchored in a groove in the pulley wheel, thereby completely enclosing the bearing. This is paired with a bladed groove structure that surrounds the dust cover, which dynamically extracts debris from the pulley wheel when it's rotating.
ADR has been developed in a constant pendulum between our R&D department, the CeramicSpeed test lab, and field testing conducted by a select group of our professional off-road teams.
ADR was tested to its limits during this year's Cape Epic, where our XCM team Buff/Megamo was riding prototype versions of a solid pulley wheel featuring ADR. During what proved to be the worst conditions experienced at Cape in recent times, the ADR feature stood its ground and kept all mud, water, and debris from entering the bearing.
On our new OSPW X for Transmission, we're introducing a 20-tooth solid disc pulley wheel, simply known as the ALPHA.
The ALPHA Disc features a two-piece construction. A separate narrow-wide tooth profile produced in a composite material that offers prolonged wear protection and noise reduction. As well as a solid aluminum disc that eliminates the potential of external objects getting stuck between the spokes of the pulley wheel, while adding strength and stiffness to the Pulley Wheel design.
The first iterations of our solid disc pulley wheel design were tested in the field during CycloCross World Cups a couple of years ago. During the 2022 CycloCross season, our sponsored team Tormans used the solid disc design extensively and provided valuable feedback on its ability to provide mud clearance in the worst of conditions.

Note: while the cage mounting interface is visually the same between SRAM Transmision derailleurs and the new SRAM RED XPLR 13 speed derailleur, the pulley placement and rotation of the cage are different, and we do not support using this cage on any XPLR derailleurs. Compatible with XX SL, XX and X0 (Not compatible with GX systems)
